Top 10 Web Design Trends for 2025

Welcome back to another Monitor blog post. If you’ve not seen us before, we’re a full-service creative marketing agency that specialises in web design and development. This is our bread and butter!

In this post we’re going through the top 10 web design trends that are happening in 2025. If you have a website or are looking to build one, it’s important to keep these trends in mind and make sure you’re set up for the future. This page shows you our web design and development process, as well as the custom integration we can provide.

Let’s begin…

1. AI-driven personalisation

Personalisation is becoming a necessity throughout every aspect of your business and customer experience.

However, there are a few key ways it can be used on your website:

  • Product recommendations
  • Content suggestions
  • Personalised email popups

2 & 3. Micro animations & interactions

Micro-animations and interactions are another element of personalisation that serve as the perfect tool for customer experience, which should be a key priority for your site. They work together to provide information and the visual aspect of an animation.

So what are they?

Micro-interactions – small, subtle design elements or animations that respond to user actions on a website. They help guide, inform, and delight users, making the interface feel more intuitive and responsive.

Micro-animations – small, purposeful animations that enhance the user experience by making interactions feel smoother, clearer, and more engaging.

4. Chatbots

Chatbots are a growing trend as another way of improving customer experience, improving efficiency, and driving sales.

5. Virtual Reality

There are many different ways VR can be used to visualise things for your audience on your website.

Some of our favourites include marketing campaigns with 3D elements for storytelling and 360-degree location spaces to show hotel rooms & houses with products. The IKEA Studio app is a great example of this.

6. Cursor animation

This is a simple trend that catches the site visitors’ eye and encourages them to engage with the page they are on.

You can check out some fun ideas for cursors here!

7. Gamification

Adding game-like elements is another great way to encourage site users to interact with the website and return!

Some of the most popular gamification techniques currently used are:

  • Points
  • Quizzes
  • Leaderboards
  • Badges
  • Progress Bars

8. Accessibility – WCAG

WCAG stands for Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. It’s a set of internationally recognised standards developed by the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) to make websites and digital content more accessible to people with disabilities.

Our most recent website build with the University of Salford included numerous accessibility elements, including WCAG.

9. Data Visualisation

This is a great way of engaging your reader and making them want to learn more about your brand. It creates images out of your data; some of the most popular ways are through infographics and graphs.

10. Sustainability

Sustainability is a hot topic everywhere, not just online. So, how can you make your site sustainable?

There are lots of different ways, including accessibility, which we discussed earlier. Ensuring your website is built to last is also another way we encourage sustainability. We can guide you through this process. Starting from brand building that flows across your site. This means the design won’t have to be re-updated, as you have a brand built to last.

So, are you ready to start implementing some of these trends on your site? Or is it time to start from scratch? Monitor is here to help! Your go-to creative agency in the North West.
