Teeing up for publishing success
Cotswolds golf club Naunton Downs is one of the UK’s most stunning destinations, famed for its landscape and surrounding tranquility. Our expert team worked with Naunton Downs officials to design and publish a key club brochure updating members on highlights from the previous 12 months.
Plotting the course
Following the appointment of a new general manager at Naunton Downs, the club was keen to enhance its member communications.
After touring the club’s facilities, Monitor’s creative project management team discussed ideas for a 2025 brochure that would reflect both the club’s recent achievements and promote its calendar of events for the months ahead.
Our chairman, Moray Newberry, is also a founder member and former men’s captain at Naunton Downs. His 30+ years’ experience with the club gave our team detailed insights and understandings that proved incredibly valuable as the process progressed.
Landing the visuals
Following the initial discussions, we produced a flat plan of content ideas for a 12-page brochure.
Using our extensive editorial experience, we developed a range of articles that helped Naunton Downs reinforce its positioning, provide valuable updates, and build interest in future events.
Our team also started work on design templates, carefully integrating the club’s brand colours throughout the publication. Having designed the club’s distinctive logo several years ago, we were already familiar with its desired visual language.
Officials at Naunton Downs were keen to adopt the sleek, minimalist design principles of existing popular golf magazines, so the brochure’s proposed identity quickly began to emerge.
Serving up a clubhouse classic
Naunton Downs was delighted with the finished brochure. Its strategic use of blue and green reinforced a longstanding, highly regarded brand.
The brochure will be used throughout 2025, highlighting the club’s key dates and providing a full overview of its facilities and key personalities. The inclusion of detailed menus also acts as a revenue generating tool, attracting diners to the club’s restaurant in large numbers.
The brochure successfully builds brand awareness, helps to retain current members, sparks the interest of potential members, and serves as a useful piece of collateral for all Naunton Downs officials when speaking to others.
